Stabbing reported in Hyannis

HYANNIS - Barnstable Police are investigating a reported stabbing. Officials responded to Betty's Pond Road around 6 p.m. The victim was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. The attack was not random and police quickly arrested Raoulchelle Edwards, 41, of Hyannis, charging her with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery with intent to maim. Edwards is expected to be arraigned in Barnstable District Court Tuesday morning.

 

Two-vehicle crash injures two, stalls evening commute in Barnstable

BARNSTABLE - At about 4:40 p.m. Monday afternoon there was a two-vehicle crash on Main Street (Route 6A) and Marstons Lane in Barnstable Village. A Honda Accord and a Ford Expedition collided. Two people were transported to Cape Cod Hospital with unknown injuries. Yarmouth Fire assisted in the transport. The crash caused heavy backups along Route 6A until the scene was cleared. The crash is under investigation by Barnstable Police.

Outside fire extends to cottage in Falmouth

NORTH FALMOUTH - A fire singed a cottage in North Falmouth Monday afternoon. Firefighters were called to 4 Windward Way about 1:20 p.m. A fence was burning and flames were impinging on the cottage. Crews quickly knocked down the flames. No injuries were reported. Officials are investigating if a grill caught the fence on fire.

 

Chain-reaction crash injures one

WEST YARMOUTH – A noontime four-car chain-reaction crash on Route 28 southbound at Reindeer Lane sent one person to Cape Cod Hospital Monday with a reported neck injury.

Three rescued at Nantucket beach
NANTUCKET
- Three people ran into trouble at Misacomet Beach in Nantucket this morning. Lifeguards and rescuers helped two of the victims, a third apparently made it out of the water on their own. The Harbormaster also responded to assist in the search

 

Harwich man in Boston hospital after Sunday crash
HARWICH
- A Harwich man was transferred to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston following a crash Sunday morning. 81-year-old Robert Clouter's car collided with a car driven by 24-year-old Justin Rivitusa of New York on Bank Street. Police are trying to determine of Clouter suffered a medical condition that cause him to veer into the oncoming lane.

Falmouth Police advise of road closures for 4th of July

FALMOUTH - The Falmouth Police Department wants to make people aware of some road closings that are scheduled for July 4th. The closing are in relation to the annual fireworks display.

 

All roads leading into the Falmouth Heights Beach area will be closed at 6:30 p.m. sharp. No one will be able to access this area by motor vehicle after that time. Bicyclists and pedestrians will be able to access the area throughout the night.

 

Additionally, just prior to the end of the fireworks display, the police department will be implementing a traffic plan which will include closing Jones Rd. to any through motor vehicle traffic. Also, Teaticket Highway between Sandwich Road and Maravista Avenue Extension will be closed to vehicular traffic. Officers will be at most major intersections directing vehicles in an attempt to expedite the flow of traffic leaving the Falmouth Heights and Main Street areas.

 

We would also like to remind people that this is an alcohol-free event. No alcohol will be permitted on any of the public beaches and no open containers of alcohol will be permitted in any public areas. Coolers and bags will be subject to search.
